EU-Certified Wooden Cutlery for the UK Market
Compliance is where most wooden cutlery deals fall apart — the product passes, but the paperwork does not survive a retailer onboarding review. We issue a complete documentation pack with every shipment, and our certificates are held in our own name, not borrowed from a trading partner.
EC 1935/2004
EU framework regulation on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. Declaration of Compliance issued for every product line.
EN 13432
European standard for industrially compostable packaging. Our birch cutlery is certified compostable under EN 13432 test conditions.
FSC® Chain of Custody
Timber traced to responsibly managed forests. FSC documentation supplied per shipment, supporting your own ESG and retailer audits.
LFGB / BfR
German food-contact testing, widely accepted by UK and EU buyers as a stricter benchmark for migration and sensory testing.
ISO 9001
Quality management system covering incoming material, in-process control, final inspection and traceability by production batch.
BSCI / Sedex
Social compliance audit reports available on request — required by most UK grocery and foodservice buying groups.

Selling wooden cutlery into the UK after Brexit
Food contact law
UK retained law continues to mirror EC 1935/2004 on food-contact materials, so our EU Declaration of Compliance remains the accepted basis of evidence for UK importers. We reissue documentation in your company's name as importer where required.
Single-use plastics ban
England's restrictions on single-use plastic cutlery have moved a large share of foodservice volume to wood. Birch cutlery is outside the scope of the plastics ban and is certified compostable, which is why most of our UK growth now comes from distributors replacing plastic ranges.
Retailer audits
Grocery and foodservice buying groups increasingly require social compliance evidence alongside product testing. Our BSCI and Sedex reports are current and can be shared under NDA before you place an order.
Customs
We supply correct commodity codes, certificate of origin and EORI-ready documentation. On DDP terms we handle duty and import VAT so the goods arrive at your warehouse cleared and ready to book in.
Ask for the compliance pack
We will send current certificates and test reports for review before you commit to an order. Documents are shared under NDA where you prefer.
